WHO WE ARE

Our philosophy is that social change occurs through empowering and developing the leadership of community members who are most affected by an issue, achieved through grassroots capacity building, education, and coalition building.

WHAT WE DO

The Coalition for Social Justice Education Fund is dedicated to building a movement led by low-income community members, and seen through a racial and gendered lens in order to raise the voices of those who have experienced the impacts of economic hardship.

GET INVOLVED

As a volunteer, there are many ways you can help advance economic justice causes. One way is to get involved in issue campaigns, such as sharing your story to promote understanding that will inspire better policy built on equity and fairness.

EDUCATION, INSPIRATION, AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT.

A dynamic movement that empowers individuals with the knowledge and tools to challenge systemic oppression and promote equitable and inclusive public policies.

"Coalition for Social Justice Education Fund has been one of several organizations that has consistently gathered the most signatures for workers’ rights petitions.”

Deb Fastino, Executive Director

"It was either that or be homeless. At the time, it felt like nobody cared, that I didn't pull myself up by my bootstraps enough," she said. "But it turns out that a lot of people did care. And when Coalition for Social Justice came through and gathered signatures and got this policy through, it made me realize that I am the 99 percent, I'm not alone."

Beth Fauteaux, Volunteer

“I’m the 99 percent that doesn’t have a trust fund,” ... “and these are basic human rights. Every other civilization has figured it out. Are the people who decide policy, who have paid leave thanks to my taxes, telling me I’m not important enough to have access to the same support?”
